Tom Mansur for Tulsa City Council District 7
Accountability / Collaboration / Service

A Message From Tom Mansur:

I have chosen as the Hallmarks of my Campaign: Accountability, Collaboration and Service.  These words summarize what I believe are the three principal things we need now in our City Councilors.

As a City Councilor I will focus on these three principles in the conduct of our City business and my personal actions.  We need Councilors who are accountable to the Citizens, listen to and respond to their desires, and take responsibility for our actions.

We need Councilors who not only know how to simply cooperate, but also know how to reach out to all the citizens who are concerned or affected by a particular issue and work together to find a solution.  It is not enough to simply cooperate; it is not enough to simply be civil.  Great Councilors identify issues and bring people together to work toward a common goal. Collaboration is not merely getting together and talking nice; collaboration is the essence of good government.  Councilors must take the lead in this regard and bring different parties, factions and groups together. Councilors must have a spirit of Service.

Councilors serve at the behest and at the pleasure of the citizens who elect him or her.  One of their important duties is to serve their constituents and help them.  Part of that help includes providing information and feedback.  If elected, I will conduct regularly-scheduled meetings and Open Door Sessions with the citizens of District 7.

A good Councilor must be willing to provide the leadership that great cities need to prosper, to grow, and to perfect itself. Great leadership comes from people who have the maturity, energy, experience, and personal passion to step forward.

I am committed and promise that I will be accountable, I will collaborate with all the Citizens of all of Tulsa, and represent our District honorably.
